ADSA Marks Un-fore-gettable Golf Day Milestone

The Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) held its 10th Annual Charity Golf Day raising more than £5,000 for charity. The event, at Branston Golf and Country Club, Staffordshire, saw 26 teams battling to take the top spot.

This was clinched by ION, from Liverpool, whose players were Joe and Mark Dunne, John Lee and Jamie McDonald. In addition to ADSA’s chosen charities, the Lighthouse Construction Charity and Kidney Research UK, the winning team were asked to nominate a charity of their choice. The ION team selected a very worthy cause - the Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

This year’s runners-up were  Label UK and in third were last years winners SDG Access.

Individual awards were presented for ‘nearest the pin’ on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes, longest drive on holes three and ten and a novelty putting competition on the practice green.

The day started with a golfers’ breakfast prior to tee-off on an 18-hole championship course and culminated with dinner at the Pavilion, attended by 150 people.

Over the past ten years, ADSA golf days have raised more than £64,000 for good causes. Recipients have included: Golf Fanatics, Changes, Tamworth, YMCA Derby, Simon’s Heros and the Royal British Legion in addition to this year’s charities.

A raffle was held following dinner, with prizes including weekend breaks, skydiving experiences, Golf Equipment, Wine Collections, food hampers and even a dart board. All of the prizes were donated by members of the Association and collaborative partners.

ADSA MD Ken Price said: “This year marked the 10th anniversary of our annual golf day and it proved to be bigger and better than ever. Enabling credit card payments boosted our raffle funds to an all time high and we also raised extra funding through hole sponsorship.

“We were graced with good weather and everyone had a great time. I would like to thank everyone who attended and those that contributed to the day who helped make it an outstanding success.”
